Can anyone help?

Hey y'all,

I'm looking for some advice and hoping one of you seasoned vets out there can help me. I've had my shop up and running for about three weeks, and I've gotten a fair number of views (230) and favorites (102), but no sales. I know three weeks isn't too long, but I'd like to know if there are things I should be doing differently - photos, prices, store layout, etc. I'm working on building a follower base on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest; I ran a coupon code for Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend; and I currently have a flash sale on my lapis lazuli pieces. What else should I be doing?

If anyone would be willing to take a look at my shop and provide some honest, direct feedback (the kind I can't seem to get from friends and family), I'd really appreciate it! www.etsy.com/shop/TheDapperOak. And of course, I would be happy to return the favor for anyone else seeking input.

Thank you!
Lisa

Re: Can anyone help?

Good morning! I took a quick look! I like what you did with the background color, but others will vote for a unified background. Seems everyone is using a piece of driftwood to photograph jewelry with these days!
You're in a saturated market - jewelry is huge on Etsy. I would tag 'natural stone' or 'treated stone' (depending which one they are, of course) 'boho jewelry' and add to your policies. You don't have any return info- which would concern me as a buyer. Are you a "no returns, no discussion" person, a "depends on the circumstances" person, or a "I will do whatever it takes to make my customer happy" person?
(Edited to add- I have low views, which makes my purchase-per-view ratio awesome. But I don't participate in treasuries, heart games, etc that many people love to spend time on, as I don't find sales generate from those.)

Re: Can anyone help?

In terms of photos, I personally think that your backgrounds are distracting from your actual product. For example:

When the picture is small, the pendant seems to blend into the background a bit.

Perhaps you could try a brighter background? I like the character that they currently have, but the focus should be on your lovely products themselves.

Re: Can anyone help?

I love your items, they are beautiful, but you need to edit your photo's so they are brighter, a grey/white or cream background would set your jewellery off really well. The more items you have in your shop means customers will find you more easily. Renew at least 1 item per day. Esty states a law on returns for all customers, this information is in the Etsy handbook.
Join as many Esty teams as you can and do them daily.
You can heart 300 items in 1 hour period. You can follow as many as 1,080 shops at any given time.

Here is a link to my shop, which you may love or hate the look of, but this will give you some idea of how you want your shop to look.

My front page at the moment is a bit of a mess, which is why the link is for page 3.

I wish you every success and many sales in the near future.
Kim :)

Thanks, all! I added some return info (I really thought I had already done that) and I'll work on my photos and tags. I've been looking at the pages of some folks whose listings are on the first page of searches and trying to see what they're doing differently. I appreciate you taking the time to check out my shop and give me advice!
