Cake Pops

I have quite a few questions that involve cake pops.
1) Have you ever heard of cake pops?
2) Would you look for them on etsy?
3) Even if you werent looking for them on etsy and you saw them, would you buy them?

Re: Cake Pops

Starbucks has yummy cake pops. They're small balls of cake on a lollipop stick. :)

Must be because of your shop's name.

Re: Cake Pops

I have heard of them - but then I work at Michaels where we sell all the Wilton stuff to make them. I think they are adorable & there are so many ways they could be decorated for different types of parties & occasions. I would think that they would sell really well. Have you looked in search to see if many people are selling them? I would start there to see if there seems to be any market for them.

Re: Cake Pops

1. yes - I make them
2. yes - there are several Etsy cake pop sellers
3. I wouldn't buy them just because I saw them on Etsy. I sell baked goods here and I know that these are mostly impulse buys [or 'oohhh I could give thsoe to XYZ!!'], but like ANY item you need to have great photography, great SEO, great descriptions and great policies before pill will buy from you.

Re: Cake Pops

I have heard of cake pops.

I wouldn't consider buying food online unless it was from someone or somewhere I knew. But other people obviously do so don't take my opinion.

If they looked seriously awesome I might be tempted...

(I don't know that I would buy them from a jewellery/crayon shop, it doesn't really sit together as a good mix of items)

Re: Cake Pops

I have heard of cake pops, and I've eaten a few.

I don't buy food items on Etsy since the shipping is usually expensive, and I love to bake. Every time I start drooling over a photo of caramel, or cookies, or whatever, I just remind myself that if I really wanted that item, I could probably make it myself the same day.

Re: Cake Pops

If you're wanting to know if they sell, find a seller who mostly sells cake pops and look at their # of sales?

2) Maybe. I'm not in the market for them right now, but if I needed them for a party or something I probably would
3) Probably not unless I have a party coming up

Re: Cake Pops

1. No but I have now and I want some.
2. Yes only if from a UK seller or at a push EU seller and only if they state their compliance and don't sell anything except edibles.
3. Yes if meets 2. and I do buy foodie things on Etsy and I do look out for new sellers.

Though having said all that not necessarily helpful to your research as I don't live in the same country as you.

Re: Cake Pops

Following up on my previous comment - since they are pretty popular as wedding favors now, you should market some of your cake pops as such. Attach pretty tags to them that say something like "Thank you for sharing our sweetest day" or something cute and weddingy like that; or put a bride and groom's names and a date on the samples and offer to customize the tags. Of course, cake pops are also popular for bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, etc. Having a separate listing for each occasion you're marketing towards would probably help you gain exposure.

Re: Cake Pops

I have actually made them. They are really hard if you are a novice. I was able to overcome most of the obsticles in my second attempt. Decorating was demanding and time consuming. Would not sell mine on line because of the time even though they were super cute. The boyfriend inhaled them. ;) Love him.

Would I buy them? Yes. Better your time and my money in this case. Especially if I needed A LOT of them.

Yes I would go looking for them and a stumble is a good thing for treats. IMO
