Boxes- Cheapest around?

I swear we discussed this before, but I can't find any thread about it. :(

Where do you guys get the cheapest boxes (and bubble mailers) for shipping?

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

My boxes are small and very strong. I purchase them from ULine. I keep my eyes open and occasionally they put the size I need on sale and I buy them. Shipping is somewhat high, depending on how much you buy, but when you figure everything in, the boxes are rather inexpensive.

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

If you need a few bubble mailers and have a store close, check Sam's Costco, Staples etc..no shipping.

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

I recycle brown grocery bags, or use post office brown paper rolls so wrap and ship my items. It cheap and I think it looks better than a bubble mailer.

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

I purchased my Poly Bubble Mailers from upaknship.com I've been happy with them. Their turnaround time is really quick and I feel like their mailers are good quality.

I purchased 100 8.5"x12" bubble Mailers for $17.99
100 6"x10" bubble Mailers were $13.99

With tax and shipping it was $43.33 for the entire order.

I worked it out to be $.24 each for the 8.5"x12" bubble Mailers
$.20 each for 6"x10"

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

Oohhh thats a great price for bubble mailers, Deanna! I'll have to pick some of them up. I use bubble mailers the most, but I do want to have boxes on hand just in case.

Staples was reasonable (and close). I just wasn't sure if there was anywhere cheaper.

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

So, I saw these two sites for boxes and they seem a bit cheaper than Uline. Have any of you heard of these sites?

I'll also have to check out Sam's club for this stuff too. I never really thought to check them out for shipping stuff. I always just go there for food and free samples. :P

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

I use papermart.com for #0 6x10 envelopes. They are $18.75 for 150 plus shipping which is expensive for orders from any company. I always check Uline to see if they end up being cheaper.

I'll check these 2 next time I order.

Thanks for the tip.

I usually order 500 or more which sometimes gives me a discount.

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

I always forget to look on amazon for this stuff. They are super cheap! Especially with the free shipping.

I'll have to see what size boxes I'll need. I don't use them often since I don't have many larger items to ship (I mostly used them for the frames I have). But they're nice to have around just in case if I have people buying a few things from me. I don't want to spend too much money on shipping stock.

And sames club have bubble mailers super cheap!!! I was too excited when I saw them.

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

If you need small - medium boxes, try your local Target or grocery store on their re-stocking day. I picked up a trunk full of boxes for free from target this morning. I use colored duct tape (which matches my logo) to cover up any unwanted markings on the boxes. I also use the free priority boxes from USPS.

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

Hi Nicki,

I had asked this question too in the forums:) I have yet to buy more boxes since I still have some that I got from Amazon, but I was not happy with the quality of them. Here is a list of places you could check as well:

Fetpak
Papermart
Overnight Prints
Nashville Wraps
bagsandbows.com
gemsondisplay.com

I posted this question for jewelry boxes so they may not be the sizes you are looking for, but those that posted all seem to like the quality of the boxes they were getting.

I also got bubble mailers from Amazon 6 by 10 inches 100 mailers for 11$, bubble is a bit thin on these so I add some tissue paper for some extra padding.

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

If you live anywhere nears mom and pop owned places you can almost always get their boxes and packing materials. i have local businesses save it for me and i go get it every few days as i live very close to them. i dumpster dive for clean dry boxes all the time and never buy them. in a pinch i will go to a big box store and if i see boxes i know they will discard i ask and am able to take them. your shop sells small light things...why not use the free boxes you get from usps, both flat rate and online ordering of the free small boxes and envelopes.

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

I started out ordering boxes through sites like U-line and the shipping cost was almost as high as what I was paying for the actual boxes. Now I order all of my boxes online through Staples and the shipping is free.

Re: Boxes- Cheapest around?

I get my bubble mailers from Uline. You can buy them in bulk with lots of different sizes and they are very affordable.

I get the boxes for my jewelry from Nashville wraps-- they are brown craft boxes and super cute!
