Blogging Advice Needed!

My new blog is focused on jewelry, how it can boost your confidence, and techniques for using jewelry to help women look their best, as well as affordable fashion ideas for women. I have lots of fun post ideas that I'm going to work on in the coming days and weeks, and I really believe my blog will be full of great, targeted content. I love writing, jewelry (of course!), and the design aspect of blogging. However, I don't want to be talking to myself! Any advice on promoting my blog? Any good blogging teams you can refer me to?

I get a LOT of hits from pinterest and craftgawker as well as hello cotton. You can also try stumbleupon. Also running a contest can be great for driving and building traffic as well. Those would be my suggestions. My blog had about 150K unique visitors in the past month. Also post your new blog posts to your social networks - facebook - post as a photo and link as it's more likely to be seen and shared, twitter, and google plus.

Thank you Rebecca! I'm really interested in contests/giveaways. I have some followers (18) but I don't think most of them are active readers. I'll have to work on building my audience. I don't know if I should be posting things and essentially talking to myself, of just try to promote my blog first!

Just write and blog like you have five thousand spellbound followers, then promote promote promote. Run giveaways and submit them to all the giveaway sites. And join some linky parties.

Stumble your posts - if they get into circulation your views will sky rocket! New members are a slow trickle but that's ok by me :o)

a link party is when a bunch of bloggers blog about a specific topic and then the host of the party hosts all the links to their posts. you participate by blogging on the theme, posting the link, and commenting on others blogs.

I find social media a great way to gain followers and promote your blog and so have set up a team hashtag so we can promote each other's blogs. Do you have a twitter account?
