I actually accepted the offer and used it for a couple of months. It was about a year ago when it was super brand new. You should be able to import all Etsy listings, but I don't remember how to do it.
I accepted the offer because:
1. BitCoin was all over the news, and I'd heard good things about it.
2. BitDazzle was brand new at the time and trying to invite sellers who they thought might do well in their new marketplace with their products.
Anyone who received an invite should feel pretty flattered, because they didn't invite everyone. They seeked out products that they thought would fit their shoppers. They did their research.
Here's my take on the whole experience:
PROS:
* It's another venue, meaning new potential customers. And these customers have money to spend, VERY readily. BitCoin is not for everybody. It's kind of like it's an elite thing, or so it seems.
* Their customer service is excellent with their sellers. If you have a problem uploading or getting your shop set up, they walk you through it, or even DO IT FOR YOU. They'll call you on the phone, send you emails. They'll point you to the right FAQ or tutorial. They go over the top to help you out and help you sell your goods. The communication is grade A+++.
* Our shop got its first sale almost instantly. Wow. I was impressed!
CONS:
* You pay a monthly fee, whether you get sales or not. It was $7 when I was there.
* You're paid with BitCoin only, so you have to join Cashie (which is like the PayPal for BitCoin).
* There is no setup for shipping.
* All of the above means more bookkeeping (I'm not a fan of extra work).
* It takes time to learn.
* It takes time to manage another shop.
I used BitDazzle for almost three months. And we did get sales there. But I'm spoiled with Etsy, having the shipping availability right in-house. I also didn't have the time to put effort into learning everything about it, which is why I decided to leave. Although, I know for certain that we would continue getting sales there.
I haven't used any other selling platform as much as Etsy. I tried Zibbet and Storenvy, and I even started setting up with eBay...But being a busy mom with loads of other responsibilities as well, and being spoiled with all the features that Etsy already has available to its sellers, I am happy and content with being exclusively on Etsy for now. I can't and don't want to spread myself too thin. Truth be told, sometimes I don't even have as much time to spend on Etsy like I want (we have over 20 listings that I just haven't gotten up yet!).
Hope my insights give you some food for thought. =0)
