Auto Cropping

I was wondering how to adjust the cropping for my images. Can I change this or is it automatic. Two examples of the auto crop cropping oddly.

I haven't used it - I crop mine in Photoscape before I upload them here.

Christie, I see what you mean with your prints. If you retake your pics farther away with more white space, then you can bring them back into the screen with the cropping.
I too use Photoshop, but the cropping option assists me up close with my stemware and still leaves white space>

My bottles are tall and detail is far away so I use the crop tool to do this>

The trick is to crop your first image into a square yourself. Use something like GIMP, Photoshop, Photoscape etc. to crop just the first picture of your listing. The first picture is the only one that's auto cropped, and if you crop it to a square, it won't really be cropped at all by Etsy. So, while you can't really control how Etsy crops the photo, you can crop it yourself so Etsy doesn't have to. That make sense?

I thought we could crop the photos ourselves now. The first image. When I edit a listing I have the option to adjust how the first image appears. Its a new feature that I LOVE!

Thank you!!! I'll try cropping to a square for the first image and make more of an ad then show the actual full size printed image in additional images.

Oh my gosh!! I just found it, when you preview the listing at the top right you can now "adjust image".
