Are these listings misleading to customers?

I sell temporary tattoos of my artwork, and a fe of them are available in small or large size. The prices, of course, vary by size. I have had 3 customers in a row recently order the small tattoos and then put in a note to seller that they want the large one. I fear it is because of my wording within the listings, even though I tried to make it clear. It says in the title it's for a SMALL tattoo, but SMALL or LARGE sizes are available. Then in the descriptions it gives specific measurements and states that this purchase is for one SMALL sized tattoo and the large size may be purchased here: (and there is a link). Please let me know if these are unclear or confusing to you too, here are the listings in question:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/171073640/temporary-tattoo-henna-elephant-size?ref=shop_home_active
I guess it just proves what people always say about how people rarely read the descriptions in full. Or maybe I just missed the fact that I wrote it very badly and did not make things clear enough.
Any suggestions for changing it to be more clear or any advice at all? Thanks a lot, friends.

Re: Are these listings misleading to customers?

Your first listing says
""Select the size you prefer on the right before adding to your cart""

but there isn't any drop down to select the correct size.

So if I was making the purchase, I would simply state the size that I wanted in the "notes to seller".

My only suggestion is to separate them completely. Don't put any 'small' info on the 'large' listing.

OMG crochetgal I totally forgot to take that off when I decided against variations. Great idea, Carrie, thank you.

The reason I decided against variations is I could not figure out how to do quantities with variations since I had 6 small ones availabe and one large.... You know?

Re: Are these listings misleading to customers?

Well it all looks pretty clear to me. Maybe the customer just forgets to state which size they like when they are doing the order so I think I would put a drop down with Large or Small so they have to state and think about which one they would prefer.

Lovely Art!

Re: Are these listings misleading to customers?

Oh your post just came up when I clicked to enter mine.

I know what you mean about the amount. That has confused me too in the past. I think you need to put that you have 7 available but I may be wrong.

Good luck! :)

Re: Are these listings misleading to customers?

Both the title and description on the first listing are confusing to me.

Henna Feather Temporary Tattoos SMALL Realistic Matte Finish Fake Tattoo SMALL or LARGE Sizes Available

It says small but it also says small or large sizes available.
Your description says (which crochetgal already mentioned) "Select the size you prefer on the right before adding to your cart. "

1. I would take out the "small or large sizes available" in the title.
2. Remove the sentence about size variations.
3. I would put something like "This tattoo is also available in a larger size" with a link BUT I'd put it closer to the bottom of the listing so it's clear to the buyer that the listing they're viewing is for the small tattoo.

If that's the case I would just make 1 quantity available and ask them to contact me if more is needed. I then would renew the listing every time someone makes a purchase. That way, I can ensure that I don't sell something I do not have in stock.

Re: Are these listings misleading to customers?

Also, I think dividing your description into sections and adding bullet points help. As a buyer, I wouldn't want to take time to read what seems like a long essay to me. I would want to be able to find the information I need quickly.
I usually divide my description into Item information, place order, processing time, etc.

Re: Are these listings misleading to customers?

If lots of people are having trouble and you don't think you can make it any clearer, have you considered splitting them into seperate listings? The variations are there for things like this but not everyone gets it. Having another listing for large tattoos won't really be a bad thing since it'll be yet another link to your shop. That's what I'd do at any rate, especially if the prices vary. I'm personally put off by the + next to prices, I can't help thinking that the lowest price won't be for what I'm seeing so if the prices vary I split the listings.
