Probably been asked a milllion times before, but how do all promote your shop? I don't use Facebook or Twitter so I can't use them and regularly post on free advert websites (such as Gumtree for you people in England)... is it just word of mouth for most of you?

Re: Advertising

Amy,

word of mouth, banner exchange and even posting a few paid ads with blogs that are of a similar nature, but not the same. :)

Re: Advertising

Sure Amy! If you have a banner and a blog, you can exchange your banner with other blog owners. They'll post your banner on their blog and you'll post their banner on yours! :)

Re: Advertising

Blog advertising is a major way to get your shop out there. Participating in craft fairs or you even might consider consigning with a local shop. I have a few items do exclusively for the boutiques and tag all of the items with a free shipping coupon for my etsy shop. I was looking at your etsy and your items would make adorable photo props you might be able to introduce yourself and leave a few business cards to a couple studios...

Re: Advertising

I use etsylush (a free advertising site or you can pay $3 to be on the front page) it brings in quite a few views for me but no sales. And of course I use facebook, and then their is pinterest. Pinterest is a virtual pin board site, and their is team dedicated to pinning each other. Even with all this, I have found that most of my views come from etsy search! Thanks for the banner exchange idea its a good one!

Re: Advertising

We have a facebook page, website and use wix I like all of the features that they have and their rates are reasonable. Have paid for ads on Etsy, facebook and are now trying google. So far I would say facebook gets the most attention.
Best wishes
