Hi! I feel a bit stupid asking this question, but one must ask questions to learn so here goes:
Where exactly does a person advertise their shop outside of Etsy? I've handed out business cards, told family & friends, set up a Facebook page - but what else is there that I'm missing?
Please share your wisdom. I'd greatly appreciate it.
I am interested in finding out the same myself. Twitter might be another good place for exposure if you don't have an account there. I'd say any social networking sites. Maybe also join some forums with topics similar to your line of work?
I have recently purchased some advertising on blogs that are well traveled. We'll see how everything goes this month. Although I know it will probably need more time than just a month.
I use Twitter, Facebook, etsyLush, thefind.com and my blog. Have also done 2 interviews so far and have been written up in business blogs which is slowly bringing traffic to my shop but still no sales. Mine have been from within Etsy and mainly first time buyers which I guess means they could have found me through the other social sites too.
i post listings on my facebook fan page, twitter, do little features on my blog, and upload to Flicker. I think i need to spread my wings and reach out to other online sites and craft fairs would be good too !
I forgot to mention that I leave my business card inside all the library books I borrow (inside the plastic sleeve). Someone can always use a pretty informational bookmark. No, the librarians don't remove it.
I just started using twitter. I have used fb. I have my shop url in periwinkle blue, Andy font vinyl lettering on the back of my chocolate colored Montana van.
I'm thinking about making vanity plates when I renew my registration in May 2012.
I want to sell all inventory in my eco and close the shop to dedicate my energy to my crudeco shop. Its been tough promoting two identities.
