Adding keywords to Seach Ads

Anyone having trouble with this? I got the email saying that Search Ads will start on the 28th instead of the 27th, and they also said we could add more keywords. But I can't figure out how...

Does anyone know???

Re: Adding keywords to Seach Ads

Go to your shop stats, and scroll down to search ad. Look on the left hand side above it and it will say edit. Edit your search add. You scroll down and hit add more keywords until you can't add anymore!

Re: Adding keywords to Seach Ads

Thanks coffeenkisses and organiluxe! I've been worried about the email.... if they've had that much of a response I'm wondering if this is really going to work. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but I'm concerned this isn't going to work as I had hoped. :(

Re: Adding keywords to Seach Ads

I thought they picked our keywords, that we could delete some but not add

Re: Adding keywords to Seach Ads

I can't find anything that says "Add More Keywords" or anything like that. My keywords just have the original ones they gave me, which kind of suck to be honest. My biggest keyword phrase is "reusable sandwich bag" and "reusable" isn't even a keyword option for me with the Search Ads... Not sure I'm going to keep the ad if I can't have decent keywords.

They suggested things like "blue" and "brown." How is that supposed to help me sell sandwich and snack bags??

Re: Adding keywords to Seach Ads

I checked, and I had a little button that said, "Add more keywords". I clicked it, and a few more pre-picked ones appeared...but, still, not a SINGLE keyword include "upcycled" or "recycled"...which is a little inconvenient, considering that my ENTIRE shop is dedicated to upcycled jewelry. Every title, tag, and description includes the word "upcycled". I've built my titles and tags specifically so that I'll have good search results when people are searching for upcycled necklaces/bracelets, etc. How is this not a relevant keyword? Ugh....

Re: Adding keywords to Seach Ads

Oh, wait, I lied! Took a second look, and one of the "new" keywords WAS upcycled. LOL, whoops! Carry on. ;)

Re: Adding keywords to Seach Ads

Yes, I asked the same question last week. It seems no one could give me an answer.

I sell ribbons and supplies. My shop stats top keywords are "jacquard", "jacquard ribbon." Neither of these show up on Search Ads keywords. This really sucks.

Re: Adding keywords to Seach Ads

Here is a list of keywords Etsy uses for the ads:
http://www.etsy.com/search-ads/keywords

For some reason some of the really good ones that I'd love included in my ad don't load on as some of my choices. I don't know why I mostly get one word keywords when the ones that look like they would be most successful are double word keywords????

"I don't know why I mostly get one word keywords when the ones that look like they would be most successful are double word keywords????"

This, too! While I'm happy that I finally have "upcycled" in there, I wish that it was "upcycled necklace", because that's what I get most of my search results from. I also have "steel" but what I get results from is "surgical steel earrings", or "surgical steel hooks". For all of the hype lately on "relevancy", many of these keywords are far from relevant. Hopefully the keywords will get better as the system evolves!

I wish that, when we choose to get rid of one of the pre-chosen keywords, more new ones would appear. Even if we don't get to decide them ourselves, it'd be nice if the next one on the "list" would pop up in its place.

Re: Adding keywords to Seach Ads

Hi LizMama - Exactly! That's what I keep thinking. I think Etsy is still tweeking this and that is one of the reasons they delayed the adds. So I'm trying again later today.

Re: Adding keywords to Seach Ads

Hopefully! Does anyone know what time/timezone the search ads will begin? I'll have to make sure to take a look again later, to see if there are any changes.
