Need some help...Constructive Criticism for SEO

It's a bit ironic, but tomorrow I am going to be working on my shop with a bang...like getting super serious with listings, and redoing tags and titles, as well as redoing pictures.

I have been doing some changes to see if it helps views. I am not seeing too much, but I have changed a lot of my listings. All of my Notecard sections have been revised, and I have redone/changed some minor things in Babies and Kids' Section. There are a few other random cards I have changed too.

What I need is for someone to go and check and see if I can do a better job with SEO. I need to do something b/c I am not getting as many sales as I think I should be. I don't understand how I can basically get tons of sales with Valentine's Day stuff but the rest of my stuff is moving very slowly! Please help! :)

I don't know if it's clear what help you're looking for. Your cards, photography, and tags all seem great. You have Twitter and Facebook presence. I don't know of any SEO changes that will help sales, since you've already got listings and social media covered.

Is it possible that there just isn't a big market for non-Valentine's Day cards that are not in a specific niche? When I was a greeting card buyer, the ones that sold consistently well had simple bold, clear design (to stand out in the display) and/or a really quirky theme, or were by a well-known artist like Gary Larson.

Re: Need some help...Constructive Criticism for SEO

I was really looking to see if I need to do better with my SEO. I sure can't find myself if I do a google search, unless I flat out google Paperika.

I am in the process of adding some "hard to find" themes like Bar and Bat Mitzvah, more Hanukkah, more things with other languages, and see if that works better.

I think it's weird that I don't have to do anything in January and I can sell out (almost) in one month but the rest of the year I am so slow. It's driving me nuts!

Thinking about it some more, one place where SEO changes might help bring in business are in your shop title and description.

Using the Google keyword tool (www.googlekeywordtool.com), the phrase "greeting card" brings up, among many other things, these:
- thank you cards
- greeting card
- birthday card
- thank you cards
- christmas card
- birthday wishes

So you could incorporate those. Right now, Google shows your info like this:
Cards for All Occasions Scrapbooking Supplies by Paperika on Etsy
Welcome to my shop! I offer a wide variety of paper greeting card for all occasions, including Birthdays, New Babies, Valentines Day, Halloween,

Here's a suggestion to incorporate terms people are searching for (using the Keyword Tool above):
Shop Title: Greeting Cards, Birthday Cards and Scrapbooking Supplies
Shop Announcement: Paperika offers greeting cards, birthday cards, thank you cards, Valentines cards, ... (whatever else you want here)

"Greeting cards" itself gets over 4 million monthly searches, whereas "All Occasions" is not as strong a keyword phrase.

I also recall that Thank You, Sympathy and Anniversary cards sold well.
