Hello everyone! I'm not so new to the team, actually, but only now I find the time to drop by and introduce myself.

My name is Melanie an I live with my boyfriend and our two little children in Germany. My boy is only four months old, so currently I'm still staying at home. I'll go back to work when he is a year old.

Until then I do have some time for knitting and listing an item every here and then. When I started knitting I mainly crafted things for my children, bandanas, booties and such, but them I moved on and currently I'm in love with romantic and elegant accessoires for us grown-ups, like long and light summer stoles or beautiful mitts for wintertime.

I do wish I had more time for knitting, but it's mostly an hour or two in the evenings.

I'm quite new to etsy and I didn't take part in the community until now too much, but I love the friendly and nice people here! It's always nice to drop by and read what is new among you etsy knitters.

Hello everybody. I am Kristin, aka the Highland Fashionista here on etsy. I started knitting for fun after my mom showed me how to cast on, off, knit, and purl about 7 or 8 years ago at Christmas. I am largely self-taught, with the exception of that initial lesson from mom and internet tutorials (and thank goodness for those internet tutorials when it comes time to learn a new move!). I originally joined etsy as a venue for all of the things that I made, and I suppose it still is, although I have been happily surprised by the positive response. I am also getting a lot better at knitting in the process! Looking forward to this group!

hi! i am a bit late introducing myself - i was on the road for two months (with a now 4 month old baby!) i am now settled into farm country here in Silverton, Oregon, working as a live-in nanny for a sweet, funky family and their two daughters (the dad used to be the drummer for the heavy metal band White Zombie!).

anyway - i am dori, aka faerwear designs - i have a book that i hope to have published by this fall - 12 simple square patterns (washcloths) that take knitters from basic to complicated techniques in short, pretty projects, and i currently sell knitting patterns here on Etsy, KnitPicks IDP and on Ravelry (i can be found there as faerwear). obviously, having a baby this past January kind of slowed me down knitwise - i mean, i think i have knit about 20 rows since February, but whatever... i still love the craft. :-) My daughter is reaching a stage where she can entertain herself a little tho, and my needles are calling me.

Hi All! I'm new to the team and a newbie on Etsy also! I learned to knit and crochet when I was just a child (many, many years ago). I kept up the crocheting over the years but not the knitting. One day I received a package from my Mom in NJ. In it were all my grandmother's and my mother's knitting needles, notions, old pattern books that are just amazing, and more. Right then I picked up the knitting again. That was two years ago and I've been a knitting fool ever since. Wherever I go, a project goes with me.

I have a lot of health problems and am on oxygen 24/7 -- so I don't get to go like I used to. I think knitting has been the thing that helped me keep my sanity. Since I was really starting over, I had to remember/re-learn what my grandmother had taught me. Then, finding Etsy, gave me a real purpose in life and I have tried more difficult things and knitted items where I added my own "twist" to the patterns.

Anyway, I am so glad to be part of you all. Right now I am working on a lovely lace scarf using #6 needles and an incredible new yarn that I found.

Hi, I'm Susan and my shop is Little Voice Knitting.
I have been knitting since I was a kid and started selling at craft shows about 2 years ago and recently opened the Etsy shop in April.
I make a variety of items because I get tired of making the same things over and over. I pretty much always have a project with me; at the doctor's office, in the movie theater, and I've been known to knit on the beach too, ha ha.
