I wa nt to keep my standalone PayPal, so I opted out. But I think you have to opt out before Feb. 15 or will automatically be opted in without being able to change. PayPal lets me decide when to exchange my US$, that is why I am keeping it as a standalone.

I've been considering accepting DC, but REALLY need to know what happens if I apply for it AFTER Feb 15th. Will I still have the choice to keep Paypal separate or not?
Because if new DC accounts will not have this choice....that is unfair IMO.

I think that if you sign up for DC after the 15th, you won't be able to have standalone PP. I turned on DC in both my shops last month so I could keep a standalone PP account.

Eight Mile is correct - sign up for Direct Credit after the 15th, no standalone Paypal will be available.

I decided to integrate my PayPal to make things easier at tax time. Etsy has everything so nicely organized for tax purposes and my husband and I both are terrible bookkeepers.
