-Calculated shipping is only for US sellers.
- You have to calculate your rates and manually type these in to put on each listing...you decide your own rates. It's important to include any of your costs, such as the shipping envelopes.
- Creating shipping profiles that you can easily add to each listing is the best.
https://www.etsy.com/help/article/190?ref=help_search_result- Package up one of your items and take it to a post office to check on the weight and thickness. Or buy a scale. You can get a digital kitchen scale from Lee Valley Tools, sometimes Walmart, or online sellers for $15-$25. Then you can weigh items and check the prices at the Canada Post website online shipping rate calculator.

Shipping within Canada
- You can ship by Oversized Letter. Either buy stamps so you have these on hand, or buy postage at the postal counter. There is no insurance and no tracking.
Shipping outside Canada to USA & International
- Ship by LIGHT Packet because when shipping outside Canada, Oversized Letter is ONLY for Paper. Objects must ship by a Parcel/Packet service, and Light Packet is the least expensive.
Light Packet does not include insurance or tracking.
There are rates to the USA, and rates for International. You can buy postage at the Post office counter, or once you have a sale you can purchase a shipping label directly from etsy that you print off with your printer (the shipping label from Etsy includes a Customs declaration area).
You will need a Customs form for each shipment if you buy postage at the counter. It is a White Sticker Label with a carbon copy behind it. If you scroll down on this page, you can see the Customs Labels.
Be sure to have the postal worker stamp the back of the copy and give it back to you, as it will be your proof that you shipped the item.
Ask for a few extra to take home, so that you can have these filled out and ready for future shipments.
