How to Get a Craft Party Box

Hi there,

I just wanted to start a separate thread for this, to be double sure that everyone gets this information. If your party has 25+ RSVPs, Michaels will send you a box of Craft Supplies. We don't have rsvps from 25 yet...They said to put something in the notes if you would like to still possibly receive a box from Michaels.... if we are planning something big our group is called "Rogue Valley Etsy Team" in Grants Pass, Oregon and we have monthly meetings gathering many times over 25 and there are close to 100 now with the etsy team at etsy and we have a facebook group we keep tabs....I am very excited but our team doesn't tend to really 'sign up' but they do "show up" if there are any leftovers we would LOVE to have them. I have been watching Michaels craft wars almost religiously! I don't think I could compete on that level! We are also doing a craft supply "swap" where people can bring things they don't need and maybe go home with things they do need. I thought that was in the same spirit of the meeting. We will do it after dinner, and have snacks galore both healthy and yummy, as well as not worrying about the healthy and yummy hehe. I have a huge backyard that is shaded and I hope to at least start outside if its not 100 or windy to enjoy the air...but we will come inside if we need to. Um...I think its going to be a BLAST and having it on Friday helps because several of our members go to a local craft market every saturday and so weekends are tough for them. Great day, and great time etc.!

If I am supposed to post this somewhere else will you let me know? I have made an event page on Facebook for people to sign up but many aren't very computer savvy.

Yes and so many of my group has good interest I'm trying to navigate them through the whole meet up site (which sometimes a bit for each since we are doing this over the web) then they think that signs them up for my our party, but doesnt' show them yet as attending so I gave them this link

And said there should be a box that says "Join us" is that what they need to do?

Hey! We are organizing a craft party in Brest (France) and we have asked a free box of craft supplies but our meet up page is wide, in france every body use facebook. We have about 30 crafters in the facebook page and we really hope we'll receive our free box!

What do I do? I signed up by the first deadline on the link above, I never got contacted, my meet up team never got the notification to even sign up for it but luckily I had found it in time and we had 27 people signed up.

Now we have 29 but I'm worried we aren't going to get a craft box even though we followed all the guidelines. I contacted Cheyne when she put up the thread in the Captains team about not getting contacted and I haven't heard back from her either.

What do I do now?

I wish my friends and I had known about this sooner. We would have loved to participate and possibly earn a Michaels box :-) Our group on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is filled with super-crafty women. We will still be crafting the 24th though, I guess we'll try our luck next year for some goodies!

Wanted to say we are going to have a social hour at 6 pm so anyone who wants to come but not be "crafty" can come and we'll do our "craft supplies swap then" as well as partake of goodies. Then at 7 we are going to do something similar to the new show "craft wars" and we can take pics and secretly vote for our favorite craft. People can stay and not craft but hopefully people will be having fun making something out of the items we get! I'm so excited to be getting the Michaels box...Can't wait to let everyone know!

Hi Julie,
We've got 60 RSVPs! I hope we get our box soon. I've created a PDF of projects that I want to share with all my attendees, but the (stupid) MeetUp site doesn't seem to allow for emailing attachments to everyone. Is there an insider tip to do this? Otherwise I'll just have to post it to an external url and direct people there using a MeetUp comment field. Grrr, MeetUp.

I responded to the original email for the party boxes, and then because I never heard anything I replied to one of the emails, but I still have not heard anything. Do I need to do anything?

thanks Julie for your answer, we've recieved the etsy craftbox so thank you very much! we're working on new ideas to make in trapilho. We also made a demand for a mickaeal's box, is it the same or is it an other box with other things inside? we've asked two times, you're right, we were not sure it would be ok because of the meet up page has not a lot of incriptions. Can you tell me if there is 2 type of boxes? thank you very much!!!

Julie, I filled out the form to get a box on August 9. I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet, and the party is only a few days away. Has anyone received a box yet?

I'm in Fort Worth, TX, and we've had 30+ people rsvp'd since early August.
