Subscribers and RSS Feeds?

My husband has all of his favorite blogs as rss feeds in Google reader. The other night we were sitting on the couch and he said, "hey you would like this post!" I leaned over and then he said, oh wait, that is your blog, haha!

After that I realized that my views didn't go up in my stats unless he clicked on my blog in google reader. So is my blog perhaps performing better than I thought?! Is there a way to see how many subscribers I have?

I use wordpress.org, not sure if that helps or not.

Someone asked if views from Google Reader count as a page view a week or so ago and after some research, I found that it DOES count as a view if someone uses Google Reader to read your post.

Google Analytics and Blogger stats always show different numbers so it's possible your blog is doing better than you think.

If you use Feedburner, you can go to feedburner.google.com and click on the feed you want to see, then click "Subscribers" to view the number of subcribers you have, how they subscribe, their email address (if by email), what web browser they use and lots more.

To see how many Google Reader subscribers you have, clcik on your blog under "Subscriptions" on the left column. Then, when your feed is up in the main reader page, go to the top right corner and click on "show details."
That will show you how many people read you in Google Reader. You may have more readers than that who subscribe through a different service. (It could be many more, actually. I have 575 Google Reader subscribers, but my Feedburner stats say I have 725 feed subscribers).
