Spacing/formatting issues on Blogger?

I'm normally a pretty level-headed person but I am reduced to tears at the trouble I'm having with a simple post. Blogger keeps putting line spaces into my posts--I go through and remove them, then post--it puts them all back in. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to getting anything to work. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't even when I do it the same way every time. I can't be the only one, can I? Any suggestions?

Look at the HTML view and there should be some extra formatting. You can also highlight the text and click the "clear formatting" button. It has a little red x on it.

There's not a whole lot I can do without seeing the code. Post a link?

Thanks for your help. I'm not seeing the "clear formatting" button when I'm in the HTML mode. This is the post I'm trying to fix--I can't get the spacing out of the recipe.

I did some research on this and apparently it's an IE8 problem. I edited in Firefox and it's a lot better--not perfect, but better. Thanks for your offer of help.

The clear formatting button is in Compose mode. It's on the right side.

Glad you fixed it! Having blogger issues is SO FRUSTRATING!!! Especially when you spent precious free time to write out a lovely post, right?! My IE8 is doing the same thing...super annoying! I'll have to switch to Firefox too.
