Button Etiquette

This is kind of a silly newbie question. . . but is there a certain etiquette when it comes to posting someones button on your blog? There are a lot of lovely blogs on the team and I would love to add some of their buttons to my blog. Do I ask before I add it? Should I let them know?

I feel like a dork for asking this. . . I just don't want to offend anyone.

I think it is great to ask when you are in doubt, don't feel like a dork.

Most bloggers that have the blog button html code on their pages put it there for everyone to use! So, I am sure they (as well as I) would be happy to see their button on a blog with a similar theme.

Informing them that you have put their button is, I think, very good. It just shows that you are positive and open for communication. If you don't let them know they will eventually come to realize it, especially if there is any traffic from your blog to theirs and will be glad again :)

I have the code to grab my button on the blog. I love it when someone posts it on their own blog and even more so when they tell me they did! :)

Thanks for your thoughts, guys! I really appreciate it. Since blogger's been funny about posts, I thought I'd spruce up my blog with buttons of my favorites today. I'll be sure to check out yours!

I agree with what kanelstrand and theBargainBabe said... I think most bloggers would be happy for you to add their buttons, and most have html codes under buttons that you can take right from their blogs to add to yours. :)
