Blogger question

I add everyone who posts their blog in a community I'm in, so I'm following 139 blogs. Obviously I can't read 139, and I'm only being FOLLOWED by 28.

I want to remove everyone I'm following and then add back the ones who are following me. Is there an easier way to do that than individually un-following 139 blogs? Because my carpal tunnel is not liking this at all.

Re: Blogger question

I have no idea how to unfollow anyone. Though honestly why not follow just the blogs you are interested in and like to read rather than following and reading blogs that just follow you. There's no guarantee they're reading your blog anyway just because they are following you.

Re: Blogger question

Well, I will also follow the ones that are interesting, whether they follow me back or not. But that's only going to be a small handful. I will follow back anyone who follows me because the entire point in this is to get attention for my art! (I have a more private blog that I use for other things.)

How you unfollow an individual blog is: You go to the blog and click "follow" and it will give you an "stop following" option.

Re: Blogger question

You can go to the bloglist on your dashboard and click on "Manage Blogs" (I think that's the title. With the system down, I can't check.) That will bring up a list of all you are following. All the way to the right for each one is the word "settings" (Again, this is from memory!) There you can check "unfollow." You can simply work your way down the list.

Re: Blogger question

That "manage" button is at the bottom of the blog list.

Re: Blogger question

I'm with Splashin... I think that's how it's done, but with blogger down, I can't really say for sure.

But on a related note, I've followed several blogs that I didn't intend on reading just because they followed me and I was returning the favor. Some of them, I actually end up reading occassionally when a post comes up in my "updates" that looks interesting. I don't know how many total blogs I follow, but I know it's more than I usually read.

I say, just keep following them... unless you really are never, ever going to read them ever. But to do it just in a "you didn't scratch my back so I'm not scratching yours way" well, to each his/her own I suppose. :) Good luck with whatever you decide :)

Re: Blogger question

I agree with vivatregina. Though I'd say only have in your blogroll the ones that you're really interested in. If you have poorly-written or completely unrelated blogs in your blogroll, your readers may wonder about your taste. I consider my blogroll to be like advertising space and it reflects me and my blog.

Re: Blogger question

That's interesting; I never pay attention to other people's blogrolls. I didn't know people did.

Un-following people through the "settings" doesn't seem to do anything. They still show up in my feed. I ended up having to go and un-follow everyone individually. I kept people who post real blog content and a couple that I'm just a fan of.
