android and ipod/ipad apps

These will be particularly in demand as the two platforms become more common.

(I'm wavering between the two at the moment and am leaning toward an Android gadget, but have to finish saving for it!)

Re: android and ipod/ipad apps

I have resisted handheld gadgetry until this year, but now have both an iPod Touch and a Droid 2 phone (the touch is essentially like an iPhone 4 with a lousy camera and no 3G).

They're both great, and each system has its own strengths and shortcomings.

I'm surprised there is not a wider selection of apps available for Android. There are two that I know of. iOS, too - there are only 3-4 results for Etsy in the App Store.

Re: android and ipod/ipad apps

juln - you're absolutely right about the +'s and -'s of each platform. My hubby has an ipod touch and I have an adroid tablet. They're just different species of mobile devices. (And I've been snitching his ipod to see if there's the same app there as there is on my Android.)

So what do we want to see for Etsy on Android and iphone?

Re: android and ipod/ipad apps

I have an Android.

I want to be able to, using my phone>
answer convos
acknowledge orders (if there's a way to get Google mail to allow Canned Text from the Droid, so much the better)
relist items
heart items
attend virtual labs/chat sessions
read/monitor forums/teams

Don't ask much, do I?

Re: android and ipod/ipad apps

I've downloaded the Android app 2 or 3 times, and keep removing it. It's a waste of memory and space as it stands. The only helpful element to sellers (imo) is the ability to convo. Just my opinion...please don't throw heavy things at me! ;)

Re: android and ipod/ipad apps

The one thing that would make the Etsy for Android app SUPER is the ability to list directly from it! That would ROCK! =D

Re: android and ipod/ipad apps

I would love to have an iPhone app that would notify me when my shop gets featured on the front page of Etsy. I'm relatively new, so I may be using the wrong terms.

I would also love an app that would notify me when someone visits my shop and/or favorites something in it.

I recently saw an app called "Featured Me"...but it had no ratings or reviews. It sells for 2.99. Has anyone tried that one?
