Book Inspired Items in your Shop

What items in your shop have been inspired by your reading? Or if you have many, what are based off of your favorite books?
I don't have that many literary soaps at the moments, but I do have:

Captain Wentworth bar Soaps-

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

Citrus and sea salt sounds amazing!

I actually rearranged my shop today so I could include a "book inspired" section though I don't have much right now!

There's my True Grit earrings (I read the book last year)

And the Sweetwater Rim earrings were named after a Louis L'Amour book:

I have a series of Greek mythology inspired earrings:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/MollythePirate?section_id=7826430

I did have others but other literary like-minded folk found them.
Jump in the time machine! If you want, of course. :)

Most recently The Queen's Heart:

Fortuna necklace was named after a character in a Brian Jacques (RIP) book:
http://www.etsy.com/transaction/37941578

Secret garden necklace:
http://www.etsy.com/transaction/37044928

Jane Austen necklace:
http://www.etsy.com/transaction/29599649

Clockwork Heart named after the book of the same name by Dru Pagliasotti:
http://www.etsy.com/transaction/21196482

I actually am inspired by books quite a bit since I'm constantly reading. This group has inspired me to add plenty more though. :)

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

I have a couple lockets that look like books and I often incorporate text or literary names/characters into the descriptions and feel of my items. One of the first pair of earrings I sold was tiny book lockets with bows called "Romantic English Major earrings".

This one is a bookplate necklace, so more related to writing I suppose

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

Everything that I have in my shop, as of right now, is inspired by either a quote from a Jane Austen novel, or from one of her letters. :)

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

I've been looking to do more literary stuff but i've always been drawn to movies as well. I'd love to do something Robert Louis Stevenson inspired.

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

Well I am now inspired to be inspired by books. I make quirky, dark humored cards and have been reading some Bukowski, he has some crass pearls of wisdom that I think would be great on cards.

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

I've been toying with doing two complimentary scents called "Elinor" and "Marianne," inspired by Sense and Sensibility of course.
I'm also thinking about a Doctor Who inspired soap...

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

I have a "Jane Austen Collection" in my shop but I haven't been working on it lately :( I made a great charm bracelet with a locket you could open and I put in a quote from Mr. Darcy...so romantic! Maybe I'll make some more :) Any ideas on some more romantic quotes from literary men?

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

As far as Austen men- try Captain Wentworth's letter.
Mr. Rochester from Jane Eyre has some good lines as well.

I blended my Elinor and Marianne fragrances the other night.
Elinor: Rosewood, Eucalyptus, Ivy, Bergamot, Vanilla
Marianne: Vanilla, Lavender, Rose, Cinnamon

They ended up much more complex than I had originally intended, though strange, I think Elinor is lovely and Marianne has such interesting levels. Much like the characters I think.

I also mixed up Holmes and Watson scents.
Holmes: Tobacco Flower and Cedarwood
Watson: classic Bay Rum with a touch of Blood Orange

I'll be mixing them into soap and perfume soon, so look for them in my shop in the coming weeks!

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

Funny thing, I had these in my shop all along, and had named them for the heroine, but I kept forgetting and not making the connection:

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

Thanks, Book!

Even more credit to my absent-mindedness is that the original photographs of these were on the pages of the book. :D I must be getting old.

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

In honor of the romantic poets and intellectual rascals of Europe, I just made up a batch of "Green Muse" soap-- absinthe fragrance with real wormwood in the soap.
It needs to cure, but it will be in my shop next week.

Re: Book Inspired Items in your Shop

I just listed a Miss Marianne necklace to match my Miss Elinor one today! Thanks everyone for inspiring me to get to work!

Miss Marianne

Miss Elinor

Which one are you? I think personality wise I'd be an Elinor...but I'm loving the Marianne necklace :)
