Hello, just received an email from Etsy indicating:  Due to new tax rules, Etsy will soon require sellers who have made over CA$30,000 this year to add a goods and services tax (GST) and harmonized sales tax (HST) ID to their account.   i looked into the Canada Revenue Agency site and it indicates that you are not required to have a GST/HST ID if you are a small supplier. Small supplier is defined by CRA as follow: Small supplier A small supplier refers to a person whose revenue (along with the revenue of all persons associated with that person) from worldwide taxable supplies was equal to or less than $30,000 ($50,000 for public service bodies) in a calendar quarter and over the last four consecutive calendar quarters. from the above CRA definition you would need to make $30,000 per QUARTER, 4 CONSECUTIVE QUARTERS. and not as Etsy email states $30,000 per year. anyone can shed some light on this? ...
