How do you do feet on a cloth doll?

I make cloth art dolls. I'm rather new at this, and I can't figure out how to do bare feet. When I sew the feet, no matter how hard I try, there is a little funky point on each side of the foot where I end the curve over the toe area. So how do you stitch bare feet to get pretty little toes with a nice smooth side? There has to be a trick to it. If someone can explain it, or even show a photo, that would be very helpful.

It sounds like you aren't stiching far enough down the curve. You need to follow the curve until it blends into the existing stitch line. Difficult to say really without seeing a picture. One good tip I learnt for getting rid of unwanted "points" is to gently rub the point across a hot iron. Most of the time I find this gets rid of them. Hope this helps.

It might help to start with cutting the toe area in a curve, when you're cutting out the pattern. If you start with a curve, it'll make it easier to think curve when you're stitching it. But Jane is right, you have to sew the toes area in a curve. Make a few practice feet and play with it until you've got it down.

I don't do a lot of bare feet just because sometimes I get it right and sometimes they just look really bad! I've been able to fudge it by kind of pushing the "point" in and sewing from the outside, if that makes sense.

I use a tiny machine stitch

My only feet or hand advice is to stitch 1 small stitch across instead of a point either an innie or outie point (concave or convex or the other way around!) to help a smooth finish turning through.

I also trim with pinking shears before turning through x
