August Team Challenge : Mermaids

Our team challenge for August is Mermaids! Make a mermaid, but feel free to be adventurous. It can be the traditional half fish mermaid, or perhaps you may change it up and make it half shark, squid, or other sea creature. Or perhaps you prefer to keep the fish tail, but make the top half something other than human, let's say a monkey or a cat! Be creative!


If you wish to join the challenge, just post a link here to your etsy listing showing your doll. If your doll is not currently for sale on Etsy, you can post it to our Facebook page here www.facebook.com/EtsyDollmakersTeam - be sure to mark it "team challenge" if you post it on facebook. Please post entries by the last day of this month.

At the beginning of next month, all entries that are listied on Etsy will be included in our team treasury, and all dolls entered will be shown on our facebook page.

You may post up to 4 dolls , however I may choose only 1-3 from each artist to include in our treasury depending on how many entries we receive.

Please be sure that your items meet the challenge theme. Any other dolls may be listed in our New Listings thread www.etsy.com/teams/8062/dollmakers/discuss/9376132/

You may post new dolls, dolls you already had made, or doll clothing items that fit into our theme.

Congrats on the sale of your first mermaid Cathy. I have a feeling you won't have any trouble coming up with more mermaids if these one's sell too! ;) I've noticed that since Etsy changed format, I can't even look at sold items anymore. I at least used to be able to find the photo in the sold listing to put in our facebook album! So I'm sorry for anyone I missed in the last challenge if your item sold. Does anyone know a way around that?

This was it! We filled every single box of a treasury list, and that's not counting all of the dolls that were sold before the challenge ended! Thank you everyone for sharing your wonderful mermaids!

With Etsy's new format, I can no longer get pictures from sold listings to show in a treasury. ( Unless someone else knows how and can tell me!) If your doll sold before the challenge was over, you can still post it on our facebook page, or just send me the picture, I will make sure it goes into this month's team challenge album.
