Hello fabulous doll makers team members. Here is your clueless team leader asking for more advice :)
I've just gotten a custom request for a stuffed animal that would be much larger than anything I've ever made. I need to quote her a price, but I have no idea how to estimate shipping for an item of this size. I've made dolls that were up 15" tall before, but they were tall and skinny, and weighed very little. This request is for an 18" tall very wide pillow-ish doll. I'm guessing that it would be similar in weight to a large bed pillow, but really don't know for sure or where to go from there. I would be shipping from Ohio to California. I tried calling the post office for ideas on how to estimate a price for this, but they said they couldn't help without bringing it in to weigh. ( which I can't cause I haven't made it yet!)
Has anyone shipped anything similar, or know a good way to make an educated guess on this?
