direct checkout- How are debit cards handled?

How is a debit card treated with DC? I know paypal sometimes treats a debit like an echeck in which funds are not available for a bit?

Debit cards *should* be treated the same as credit cards. I've used PayPal for more than 12 years and have NEVER heard of them treating debit card transactions like e-checks until I read your question here.

Hi,
I have had customers use a debit card at paypal and it comes up as an e check which takes a few days to clear. I think it has to do with the bank that the debit was issued through. At my B&M a debit card is treated as a credit card.

Great question! Using a debit card won't impose an additional delay on your funds -- many are treated just like credit cards.

We can't speak to all debit cards, though, as some card issuers may not allow for online purchases with a debit card. Rest assured, this won't affect your funds!
