Why

Why does etsy take out of my money recieved and also charge me on my bill for selling an item??? Is that right??

There are the fees Tana mentioned on all Etsy transactions--no matter how they are paid.

If a transaction is paid using DC you'll see the fees taken directly out of the payment in your shop payment account. Those fees are for processing the credit card.

The fees Tana outlined you will see on your bill. DC fees are immediate and can be seen on the shop payment account page.

PayPal also charges payment processing fees if your customer checks out using PayPal. Similarly, any card processor (PayPal, ProPay, Square, Intuit, etc.) that you use to take credit cards at a craft show also charge fees for processing your payments.

So, you have Etsy fees for posting ($.20) and selling (transaction fee) at item. Those are fees connected to your Etsy shop.

Additionally, Etsy will take fees for processing your Direct Checkout payment. Those are fees associated with processing your payment. Remember that any payment processor will charge fees.
