Rubi and others with DC problems--Last night in exasperation, I went to help→, contact us→email form, and filled out an email form explaining my problem with the DC process. This is the response I got. I was asked not to distribute the answer, but any of you could do what I did and get the same answer. I have not yet taken that step will do so very shortly and see what happens.
To remove direct checkout from your store:
> payment methods, click Your Shop > Shipping & Payment and select
> the Payment Methods tab. Deselect the credit card payment method
> and save your settings. This way, you will receive no new sales
> through direct checkout.
