Wait until 10 day period has passed?

I just signed up for Direct Checkout - about 2-3 hours ago - and have my first purchase using a credit card - yea!!

So, my question is - do.should I wait until the 10 day period is over or ship item now? Her item is for St Patrick's Day so she will want it soon.

I'm inclined to send it now...

oh yeah, the idea is that you ship it out right away; if the money is in your shop payment account, then it's guaranteed, it just takes a while for etsy to send it. you can't get the funds deposited until three days after the sale anyway, and it's been marked shipped!

I agree. Ship right away. The 10 days is more to be sure your bank account is correct and the money can be transferred. After the first time if you don't choose "Earlier" and the deposit is made on Monday it probably will be there on Wednesday.

Thanks for the advice. Item is packed and ready to go in the mail about 15 minutes from now.

Uh, so new to direct checkout- it says 10 day waiting period if your bank account info has recently changed. I just set the account up last week so teeechnically I have "changed bank info" but really I have to wait ten days to get funds?

In order to make this attractive to sellers to offer, it needs to be on par with paypal- buyer sends money, seller gets money. No wait.

Yes there is a ten day wait period.

There is also a wait period with each sale. The wait period is three days. In any case funds are not released until the sale has been shipped.

I could swear I read somewhere that the three day wait period had been lifted, but now it's back... am I going crazy?

I believe the wait period now depends on how long you've been on Etsy and how many sales you've had. So established sellers who have lots of sales and are just now turning on Direct Checkout might see no wait period (I didn't when I signed up) but new sellers may still see a wait period.

Etsy will notify sellers when they qualify for the no wait period for their Direct Checkout sales amounts to be placed into their bank accounts.
