As many of you know, we're beginning to ramp up a key change to how you receive your deposits from direct checkout sales. In the near future, eligible sellers will no longer need to mark a direct checkout order as shipped before being able to access funds from that order. This will give you quick and easy access to your funds.

How will this work exactly?

-When an order comes in, you'll see that the funds will be available the very next day. Bear in mind, the deposit schedule still works like it does now--meaning deposits will be sent on Monday unless you use the "Schedule Earlier Deposit" button in your Shop Payment Account.

-All orders will live in one comprehensive section of your Shop Payment Account. No more "Open Orders" and "Completed Orders," as there's just one section that includes all of your order activity.

-You will still need to mark your items as shipped accurately. This will let buyers know their items are on their way, and will make sure you are covered by Etsy's Seller Protection program.

How will you know if you're eligible?

If your shop's first sale (with any payment method) was older than 90 days. Simple as that.

Have any other questions about how this works? Definitely let us know! We'll be ramping this up over the next couple of weeks, and you'll see a banner in your Shop Payment Account when this is available to you. This doesn't apply to any orders that were placed before your account switches over, but will be an exciting new feature for your shop going forward.

IttyBittyWedding - I've had DC since March and I just got the notice yesterday. I don't know of a full rollout date - they're still slowly rolling it out. You will probably see it soon!

Very happy to hear this!! As a made to order personalized jewelry shop, availability of the DC funds was a big turn off for me, but at the same time did not like that by not having DC turned on I could be excluded from search results. This makes having DC a lot better! The sooner this is implemented the better..can't wait!!

Was glad see DC being available the day after a purchase. This is very helpful because many of my items in my "MagdaleneKnits" shop are custom orders. I always discuss with the customer how long before item is completed. Usually within a week. Where before we would have to wait until the item was completed and marked shipped before we received payment.
Ok so yesterday had a big sale in my shop - Customer paid by credit card - which according to your notice - the funds should show up the next day.
I still do not see the funds in my Shop Payment Account.
Although they say next day - anyone have a 2 - 3 day delay?

Pamela, it depends on when the order was placed with respect to when you were turned on for next day funds availability. If the order was placed before you were turned on, then the order still has to be shipped for the money to be available for deposit, and it would be visible in your SPA under "Open Orders". Otherwise, it should be visible in your "order history."

I had the banner in my shop saying the shipping requirement was lifted but I am not seeing any change. Still requiring shipment for funds to show up in account.

I wouldn't have direct checkout turned on if it weren't for this advancement in the direct checkout option. As a shop that does 100% custom work and is currently at a 3 week turnaround time, waiting until my items ship to get paid is not feasible as I have supplies I need to buy in order to make the items.

Has anyone else NOT had the shipping requirement lifted for their shop yet? I've been selling on Etsy more than a year and I've had Direct Checkout since May, but I'm still having to mark my items as shipped to receive payment. And...I've had 4 more custom orders just placed using DC. My current time to ship is 3-4 weeks!! I can't keep funding my supplies up front with what I make from my pattern sales. Please have mercy :``(

I don't have it lifted yet. A lot of others that I know have recently had it lifted so I am crossing my fingers that I may be next. It's imperative for my type of business that I receive the funds before shipping.

Latoya, I have had DC since May as well (slightly over a year selling) and just had it turned on yesterday. I am not sure how they are going down the line. Hope you get it soon.

Same here ... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get the notice soon! Everything in my shop is 100% custom with about a 3 week turnaround time right now.

Still waiting for mine, I have a three week turnaround too and Etsy is holding up to $3000.00 at a time on my account for up to 3 weeks. I can't keep this up for very much longer. Patiently waiting for the shipping hold to be taken off.
