No payment until shipment...

I was told that the delayed payment (until shipment) would be waived for SOME Etsy shops as the gift cards were rolled out. I have seen people talking about the 90 day window from your first sale in order to eliminate the 3 day hold, but nothing about the "no payment until shipment" hold.

Since I run a custom clothing shop, this has a BIG IMPACT on me. This is the only reason I prefer Paypal, so I'm wondering when it's supposed to change. And if it has changed for some, why not my shop?

I didn't realize that the hold payment until shipment policy was being revisited. I hope so! It definitely is not ideal for custom orders, I absolutely agree!

I just signed up for DC and honestly, the promise of removing the hold on payments was one of the main reasons I finally did. But, I am not seeing the "blue notification" in my shop...

Kate - I am primarily a made-to-order shop as well, and was so excited to see that when I had a DC order come thru today, the money is available to deposit tomorrow - *before* the item ships!! :D I didn't see a blue notification in my shop so I had to take a chance, but it looks like they have made the changes!! WOOHOO :D

Hmmmm....I wonder if it's that way with mine too. I don't do all custom orders, but I do have that option and one custom sale so far.

My store has been changed over as of yesterday when I got that lovely blue notification. Still got my 10 day wait to deposit funds from signing up though...

Miri, You can ask for that 10 days to be waved. They did it for me.

Thanks Mary. I did ask after I posted (figured, what can it hurt?) and they bumped it up! :-) Have to say, the DC Admin are very responsive! I appreciate that!

I had a notice at the top of listing page. It appeared yesterday and says:

"Great news! Based on your sales history, funds from your direct checkout orders will now become available the day after the order is placed. You no longer need to ship the item first to receive your funds. Deposits will still occur automatically on Mondays, or sooner if you schedule an earlier deposit. "
