Just made a sale with Direct Checkout

I just started using Direct Checkout. I got my first sale today and they used Direct Checkout. It said it was paid but did not get a confirmation like I do from Paypal. When I checked my paypal account it wasn't in there. I checked my bank account and it wasn't in there either. I'm soooo confused! Don't know if I should ship product or not. What should I do??????? Thanks!

At the top of every page in Etsy (when you are signed in) is Your Shop: ShopName, a link. Hover your mouse over that, a menu appears. Click on Shop Payment Account. That is where you can see your money that Etsy has received for you for Direct Checkout. The item is paid for, you should ship it and mark it shipped. Buy delivery confirmation to have a tracking number and be eligible for Seller Protection.

If you've been open on Etsy 90 days, then payments go out to your bank account every Monday. You can also schedule them to happen before that, too. Scheduled payments go out in the afternoon of the scheduled day, I believe.

Oh thank you so much. Didn't realize I needed to ship before getting payment. Its the opposite with paypal. So does this mean that if I ship it tomorrow, I will get paid on Monday?

You will not get confirmation emails from DC like you do from PayPal.

The receipt will show you which payment method the buyer used. It's in the blue box that says "Paid."

You no longer have to ship before the money goes into your Shop Payment Account. The money will be available in your Shop Payment Account the day after the sale (unless you are very new to Etsy). Money is transferred to your checking account every Monday unless Etsy gives you the option to schedule an earlier deposit.

Whether you need to ship or not depends on how long your shop has been selling.

Like Deb said, there are variables based on how long you have been selling on etsy, as to how and when your money will be released.

I just made my first sale yesterday and I did not choose the track shipment option. Was that a big mistake? Did I forfeit my seller protection rights?

As long as you have the tracking number, you can follow up by going to USPS.com and track it yourself ;)
