Is this a Gift?

I posted this question in a general forum, but I thought the Direct Checkout Team might have an answer as well--

I recently signed up for direct checkout....I'm just wondering from the information that is transmitted via the transaction information, is there any way to tell if the item is shipping to a gift recipient??

For example, let's say someones Etsy user name "genltebreeze" and the shipping address says Blake Edwards, at such and such address. HOW DO I know if gentlebreeze is sending a gift or ordering for himself?

I guess with the holidays coming soon, it would be nice to know since most people sending a gift don't want the receipt with price information included.

Re: Is this a Gift?

I don't think there is a way to know from the transaction information alone if it is a gift.

You could put a message in the auto confirmation email that asks the buyer to let you know if they have any special requirements regarding a receipt.

I am pretty sure for international packages you have to put an itemized slip with prices--has to do with customs.

I go with-- a buyer will let me know/ask if they need something specific for shipping.
