How long for a refund?

I just issued my first refund, a partial refund, through direct checkout. how long should it take to credit the customers account?

Takes a few days to post back to a customer's CC. Most likely in the 3-5 day range.

It is immediately taken out of your account and that is pretty much all you can do. If a customer had an issue with it not posting they would need to contact Etsy support directly.

I refunded a customer after an item did not arrive by Christmas. I was happy to refund her, and because she was so upset I did the ultimate "no-no" I refunded the item before she returned it. I did get the necklace back, but she wrote me this morning, almost 2 weeks after Direct Check out took the funds out of my checking account, and said that she still has not gotten the refund. I sent her the transaction number, she double checked her bank statement, and nope, no refund. I would like to put her in touch with "the power that be", so I don't have to be involved.

Does anyone know how to contact someone connected with direct check out. HELP!!!

Your customer needs to contact Etsy directly. All you can do is issue the refund.

Have your buyer include order # with that email so Etsy can have a look.

The help has a picture. The short explanation:

Your Shop > Sold Orders and select the receipt number for the transaction. From the receipt, click Manage Order > Issue a refund.

I think a lot of it has to do with the credit card company. I have gotten refunds online that takea week to show up in my credit card
