HELP! Direct Checkout Refund

HELP! My client wants to cancel her order which she paid for using direct checkout. I want to issue her a full refund: she paid $30 plus $6 shipping and no tax.
I go to "sold orders", find her order, click on the receipt, click "issue a refund" from the "manage order" drop down option, and if I check the box for "issue full refund" and then "review refund" the pop up that appears shows that her refund total is $1,000.12 USD. WHAT? Why isn't it $36?
I can't even cancel here because the cancel button is greyed out. What am I doing wrong?

Shermin I just saw a thread in the bugs section of the main forum with this same problem. I looked at one of my recent transactions and on the refund page I'm seeing the $1,000.12 amount also.
I've sent a convo to Evelyn to let her know what's happening.
I would sit tight until they get this bug fixed. Maybe send a convo to your customer letting her know you'll send the refund as soon as the system allows.

i have a customer whom i refunded on Sep17 (mon) and etsy says order was cancelled on Sep19 (wed). but she said in her account it says:
reimburstment = $0
is this an error?? or is there a delay in refunding the payment??

Thanks everyone! I was able to issue a full refund for the correct amount this morning, and I also left feedback for the buyer.
Now that I issued a refund and the buyer and I agree I will not be shipping her order, how do I remove the order from my open orders list?

once you have refunded the money, you CANCEL the transaction
it takes a couple days for it to "go through" with etsy (i.e., for etsy to process it). and the it wil show up under CANCELED orders
