Goodbye Paypal

Wow, all of my sales this month have been through direct checkout. Nothing was sold using Paypal. Thank you ETSY for adding this new feature!!

Now if we just didn't need paypal to pay our Etsy bill! But I agree it has definitely had a postive impact on my sales.

You can pay your bill with your regular bank account. You dont need Paypal for that either!

Lisa I've never seen that option. Only paypal or CC.

However that being said I still have a significant number of customers using paypal. So I will keep both active. :)

I still have customers using Paypal too. It's running about half Paypal and half DC. Some obviously prefer to use Paypal so I'm keeping it.

I love it -- an honestly I am shocked when I get a paypal order now. It's kind of like -- what am I going to do with that?

I love getting those Paypal orders so I can build up my balance to pay Etsy and buy supplies...But I love the increase in sales that I have gotten since I got DC!

I like DC as an option for my customers. However, whenever I go to a site and have to pay this way, it's annoying! As a buyer, I prefer Paypal. I also just had a customer mention that she liked being able to use Paypal in my shop. So I'll keep both options open. There's no reason not to!

Ever since I signed up for DC, all of my sales have been paid through this option - wish I'd signed up for it sooner! I will definately keep PayPal as well though - I would want to offer as many options to my customers as possible.

I would like it too, if I did not have to "store" my Social Security number. No way will I do that, and it is unacceptable to require such a thing IN ADVANCE. I am disabling my DC tomorrow. =(

In advance, yes. I'm glad they do.

I can't imagine the cost of trying to collect that information after they already needed it. The fines they would face for being late issuing 1099s, extra staff needed to chase down stores that didn't provide it. That would be a nightmare.

It would be like waiting to get an order THEN buying one package to mail it off in. Crazy.

On the useful side of things---you can get an EIN for your business. That is what I use.

While I like DC, I do value those who still pay via paypal. I know it's easier for the person to pay DC, but when they pay via paypal, it goes directly to my account and directly to my paypal card which makes for buying the necessary materials possible without using my own personal money.

Both are great though, because I like the weekly paycheck! It's like a gift from Etsy every week!

I like DC, too. I run two shops and one has had only DC sales. I like using both. Can always take money from PayPal if needed.

Think the option is great for the public as some do not have pay pal and this is needed.

Yeah for direct check-out. It has been positive for me.

Both are great. Wish I could use DC funds to pay my shipping bills before the money left Etsy. Otherwise. YEAH DC.

I like that PayPal has features that DC does not--foremost being a live customer service telephone number with professional staff. I'm still receiving more PayPal payments than DC--about 3 or 4 to 1. Options are good for the customers however, so, for now, using both methods is fine with me.

I like having both DC and Paypal, I like having a balance in my paypal account for shipping, etsy bills and shopping, will definitely keep both!

I've definitely had way more sales with DC than with PayPal, but I'm not going to ever get rid of PayPal because some people still use it. Gotta keep my options open ;)

I think there are so many DC sales because it is the default setting when you check out. You have to physically change it to Paypal and it's not totally obvious to some buyers.

In a "perfect" world there would be NO Paypal to mess with our daily lives. However there are many that still use it and we can't jebordize a sale for a buyers preference. I've tried to "wean" my regular buyers from this habit and so far very successful. Time should make the difference!!!!
