Direct Checkout, This Team and Etsy

I have a question: Is Etsy going to have any access to this Forum as a way of getting feedback and hopefully making Direct Checkout work better for us? People obviously appreciate the option, and not being forced to use Paypal, that is very evident by the immediate use by my customers. HOWEVER, I will not continue to offer it if some issues are not addressed. My only issue is the 3 day hold from Etsy, then the 3-7 day transfer to my bank. No other payment processor that I use does this, and Etsy shouldn't either. Even a transfer from Paypal to my bank states it may take up to 3 days, but Paypal doesn't hold my funds for 3 days from the MAILING of the transaction, then add an extra possible 4 to transfer. This is not a good scenario for seller's, no matter how much our customers like this Direct Checkout option.

I also posted in another thread, but as I mentioned, direct checkout is an optional service. While other processors may allow you to deposit funds immediately, most imbedded marketplace payment systems do require shipping prior to receiving funds, and that is to ensure transactions go smoothly. Please understand I am not directing this at you specifically, but speaking about the marketplace in general.

Please know that we are looking at solutions for getting funds out sooner for those sellers that require funds for fulfillment, but until then direct checkout may not be the right solution for you, and we fully understand that. We hope to be able to offer you something in the future.

Leigh Anne, Once you get used to it, you won't have a problem. If you processed credit cards directly, you would get the 3 day hold.
Amazon holds money too.
I request an earlier deposit sometimes, but usually wait for Mondays. My bank credits me by Wednesday. I like getting a lump sum deposit.

It's the same exact timing as Propay, and in all my years here I've never heard anyone complain about them, but I think with the Etsy system being integrated right here people only compare it to Paypal.

The 3-7 day transfer range is an estimate that they made generous because part of the timing has to do with your bank, which is out of Etsy's control. Most of mine have taken 2 days.

to be honest, with my paypal debit card I seem to spend more money than I do with the weekly deposit into my checking account.
I figure, if I had a regular job, I would only get paid once a week, so not that much different.

The last 10 sales from my shop, the customers have used direct checkout. I am loving it.

A 3 day waiting period is nothing to complain about unless you operate your business on a shoe string. Accepting Etsy Direct Checkout is an option and, the 3 day waiting period was CLEARLY outlined in the agreement. Perhaps some people who seem to do most of the complaining should read before they sign up for a service. So lighten up and give Etsy Direct Checkout a chance. There should be a Forum on here called do you want whine with your cheese?
