This is just my opinion on the subject, but first of all I believe most business people would most likely take a return and keep the customer happy, if there was a problem or issue of dissatisfaction from the buyer, after all it is the right thing to do. I also believe that paypal makes it way too easy for a buyer to initiate a dispute. To my way of thinking, etsy is doing us a favor by not making it easy for us, or anyone else to contact them to dispute an item. The customer would need to call their charge card company and dispute through them, which if memory serves me takes some paperwork. This is all a good thing. Make it hard for customers to file a dispute, and there will be less of them. I know I have a pretty liberal return policy and if you don't like it, simply send back for a full refund. Many times I even return the postage. It is just an old school way of doing business, where the customer is always right, and there is no need to fight them over little things, just take it back and sell it to someone else. Not a big deal, and there are no disputes this way. It's all part of doing business and the costs associated with it. It seems there is maybe 1 in 100 sales that anyone ever wants to return, so I live with it and call it a good day.
