Paper Weight Question

I got my first neutral feedback in which the customer said the paper seemed "flimsy." I use 110 lb. uncoated cardstock. Is there a different paper that the more seasoned designers would recommend? I want my customers to be happy, but this is the first complaint I've received so I'm wondering if I should change my system based on one person's opinion.

Any input would be helpful!

Thanks so much,

~Jamie

Re: Paper Weight Question

I've found it to completely depend on the person who's buying it. I also use 110lb papers, and have been for the past 3 years. I get people that love it, and I also get people that think "it's normal paper" and that they wanted something more luxurious.

If you do print on thicker paper, make sure to raise your prices to coincide with the price of the paper. The thicker the paper, the more the cost usually goes up (drastically once it hits past a certain point). I chose to keep my 110lb stock in order to keep my prices lower (I am going for affordable invitations, not luxury invitations) and still occasionally get a few buyers that think they should have SUPER thick paper for my cheaper prices. It's up to you!
