Epson printer help

Hi there! So I just received my brand new Epson R2000 printer in the mail yesterday and have been testing out prints with it. I've encountered two main problems:

1) The colors on the print are not as saturated as they are on the computer. I am using Photoshop CS5, and printing on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Satin paper (I've also downloaded and installed the ICC profiles for this paper, from Hahnemuhle's website). I'm not quite sure how to fix this situation? I understand that using Epson's paper is best, but I've just dropped $150 on this roll of paper and would like to keep using it. >_<

2) I've done two test prints so far and both of them have black ink smudges at the end of the print. Does anyone know what the cause of this is?

Thank you in advance!

Re: Epson printer help

Hi Megan, I use the same exact printer! :) I'm not sure about the black ink smudges & honestly I have had lots of little hiccups with the printer. Although, I find the quality to be excellent when it's doing what it's supposed to.

As far as your color, did you put it in Adobe RGB mode in the print settings? I think the standard is Epson Vivid. It could be the paper too. I haven't used Hahnemuhle, however I'm sure it's good quality. Did you try the different photo paper settings under media type?
