Last year was the first time I ever bought fresh cranberries. I'd seen the recipe I now use, and thought I should try it since my oldest daughter was preparing the main part of Thanksgiving. It was a huge hit...so I made it again for Christmas at my house.
Yes, they are...I froze it, took it out to thaw last night, we had our Thanksgiving today since my daughter and her boyfriend are working on Thursday. My daughter's boyfriend just raves about the cranberry relish.
The first was fantastic! Great food and company. Had a blast with the older boys...12 and 14...I took the game Left Center Right. An old friend told me about the game, and since it was supposed to be (and turned out to be) a dreary, rainy day, I thought a game was in order. They loved it...and it turned out their Grandma knew the game and played, too. Speaking of her, she made an amazing sheetcake, from scratch. Chocolate cake, topped with marshmallows after baking, then back in oven to melt, then topped with a homemade chocolate frosting. YUMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are you doing for Thanksgiving? You're welcome to drop by...I'm cooking a turkey breast. :)
Not as much as last year - the usual antipasto course, then lasagna, then we were going to go onto the turkey and fixings, but we were all stuffed...Had my first bowl of homemade french onion soup - very nice :)
Last night I boiled some cauliflower, then whipped it up in the food processor with some Laughing Cow, and salt and pepper. Pretty amazing substitute for mashed taters!
Heat up your favorite fry oil, just enough to cover bottom of pan. Wrap up squares of cream cheese in won ton wraps. Once oil has reached good fry temperature, put them in just long enough to brown on both sides.
