Help on photographing transparent enamel?

Hi:

Does anyone have any insights they would like to share on photographing transparent enamel?

I have both a digital Canon SLR and a Lumix point and shoot.

Thanks much!

Re: Help on photographing transparent enamel?

I once had a piece of white translucent sea glass to photograph. In a photography forum, it was recommended that I hang a sheer white fabric in a sunny window and place the glass in front of it...shooting directly into the light. Note: I never had a chance to try it as the piece sold before I could re-shoot the photos.

It's tricky! Good luck!

Re: Help on photographing transparent enamel?

Thanks for the input! But, I guess I need to clarify. When I say "transparent enamel", I mean a layer of tranparent enamel (glass) fired on to metal. It isn't actually see through.

Thanks again!
