How did you make your first sale?

Browsing through the members list of our team and looking at all your lovely shops, I started noticing we are a very diverse group of shop owners. Some of us have been on Etsy for years, others are just starting off and have yet to make their first sale.

Experienced sellers, let's share our stories on making that first sale with new shop owners. We all know it's that one magical moment, just that one sale, we're all eagerly waiting for when just starting out on Etsy.

So let's share!

It doesn't matter whether you only had a couple of sales or hundreds: please share your 'first sale' experience so new shop owners can be inspired.

Hi Profitpanda,

Thank you for starting this thread even though i am late to the game. Not sure if there is anyone still active in here but would love some advise if possible! I started selling on Etsy last year but didn't start posting my products until this year as i was focusing on putting my products on Amazon. I haven't had any sales over there so though this is the best time to focus on my etsy store and get the ball rolling. Would anyone mind checking out my store please? any feedback is appreciated. Also how exactly do these teams work? i have seen posts about post 1 favourite 5 etc but not sure what it all means. Another note, i will also take the brilliant advise about posting on Pinterest, never thought to do that but i will definitely get on it now

Took me more than a year to get my first sale. In hindsight, I must admit I was so anxious I probably sabotaged my chances to make a sale earlier. If I could go back I would make an effort to show up for my shop often, and not be scared of all the what-ifs!
