Team Members Bios

Here are the bios for each of the team members. I will start off by telling everyone a little about me:

My shop is Crafts By Kabel. It was started back in March by myself and about a month or so later I added a partner. Her and I just do what we love. We have been specializing in cards because they are easiest to ship, however I have recently been making wine glass charms. I am currently trying to blog and branch out as much as I can.

Re: Team Members Bios

Welcome Glinda we are glad to have you! Your shop has a lot of cute items.

Please feel free to help out and participate in any discussion as you will probably have more experience since you were partnering with your mom for several years.

Re: Team Members Bios

Hello there,

I'm Helen. I opened my store this August. I started making jewellery over the summer as a way to destress from my job. People seemed to like it, so I decided to open a store here. I'm just a one person hobby store really.

Looking forward to hearing from other newbies.

Re: Team Members Bios

Hello everyone,

I would like to thank you for inviting me to your shop.
My name is Marek. It has been about 5 months since I opened my shop.
I'm selfthought photographer but it is not what I do for living.
I was hearing nice words about my photographs during last years and I decided to give it a shot here on Etsy.
It has not been big success so far but I'm not giving up :-)

Let's put some ideas together and see what we can do as team.
Marek

Re: Team Members Bios

Hi everyone,
I have literally just opened my shop, so am just picking up the basics and trying it out. I've made all sorts of things for years, and decided to set up a little business, which is currently taking up all my time, but hopefully that'll settle down. I make all manner of things, I spin my own yarn, knit, crochet, sew, make jewellery.. all sorts and am looking forward to the adventure that Etsy has to offer. I have some friends who swear by Etsy, so if its good enough for them, its good enough for me. I also have a job, but it doesn't give me enough hours to pay the bills, so I'm giving this a go, I should have done it years ago and have always made things for myself or friends..so watch this space.

Re: Team Members Bios

Hi
I opened my shop in 2010 but stopped using it after just a couple months. I was selling more at craft shows and through other venues.

Now my customers and friends are asking if I have an etsy shop so I'm trying to start using mine again. Right now I'm trying to work on expanding my inventory. Every piece of handmade jewelry is one-of-a-kind. I don't make multiples so it is a lot of work to photograph and post up each piece.

Take a look if you like: https://www.etsy.com/listing/165524340/gold-scripted-turquoise-earrings?

Best,
Avery

Re: Team Members Bios

I've not set up shop yet. Similar to what Sheena said up above, I made awesome stuff for others as gifts (of course I didn't take any pictures!) for years. Cards, jewelry, paintings, drawings... A few winters ago I sold my first oil painting by chance (probably because it was the first time I put a price tag on anything!) and sold a couple giclees of it as well as receiving a commission for a smaller piece. That flurry of activity got my bills paid through the season. I've been wanting to make what I do for fun into my job, with out making what I do for fun not fun anymore. Thus the hesitation! Its a fine line.

At any rate, I am dipping my toe into this pool of creativity in hopes of swimming to a brighter future ....looking to get swimming lessons before I find myself in over my head!

Best of luck to us all!
Julia

Re: Team Members Bios

My shop was originally to be a hand made shop. I wanted something different and heard about etsy. Thought etsy could be my new leaf, that is where my shop name came from. Right after I opened, I had to close my vintage booth and decided to put my vintage on here. I opened in June and so far it has been a good experience. I still have a lot to learn.
Thanks for inviting me!

Re: Team Members Bios

Hi everyone! I've been shopping on Etsy for about 2 years, but just opened my own store not even 2 months ago. I've always been inspired to create and that's what fuels me! I would love to gather as much knowledge as possible to optimize my shop with the hope that I can successfully convey my love for what I make. My items are somewhat unconventional, so I would love to learn the best ways to market them for maximum exposure and response. As I learn, I'm happy to contribute my own experiences as a new shop owner, especially if it'll help anyone out! Thanks for reading!

In peace,
Tania

Re: Team Members Bios

Hi everyone. My name is Jennifer and I opened my shop almost a year ago. You can't really count the first few months because my pictures were total junk and I didn't join teams or make treasuries. Once I redid my photo's and became active with teams, I did start having some moderate success.

I make candles and soaps - mostly dessert themed, but I do venture into other themes especially with soaps. I am about to do my first craft fair this weekend and I am a nervous wreck!

I am at the point where I don't sell enough to quit my day job, but I do sell enough to suck up all my free time making orders. I would love to do this full time, but I am not sure if there is a large enough market for my items. I am going to give it until after Christmas a reevaluate then.

I am happy to be part of the team and look forward to seeing everyone's shops.

Re: Team Members Bios

Hi to all you creative people!! I just went thru all your shops and fav'd ALL of you!! You guys have great shops with beautiful creations!!
I opened my shop the first time in Feb '12 ran it for a few months only got 2 sales but I wasn't doing any teams or treasuries I got discouraged and let my items expire. I continued selling items to friends and family when they requested custom orders, and all I kept hearing from people was I needed to start an etsy page... So finally I started my store back up this month... Still no sales except from a co-worker who gave me a custom order, but hopefully that will change if I'm patient ;0) I create a large variety of different items, I just create whatever pops in my head. I love painting, sculpting, crocheting, and making jewelry, and recently got into sewing. Feel free to take a look and Please, if you have any suggestions send me a message!! I would love some feedback :0)

I have always been a picker and the more that there is to go through, the beter!
When I am creating, My mind goes to a wonderful place where my granmother and I would sit for hours on end just making doll bed out of tomato carriers and blankets out of old clothes. So you could say I was a reuser before reusing was cool!!!

Re: Team Members Bios

I am a full time physical therapist and a part time entrepreneur. For years I dreamnt of opening a small business, then I stumbled upon Etsy.

Philippines, the country I grew up is famous for high quality wood products like jewelry and furniture. My cousin has decades of experience in woodworking particulary jewelry, so I got the idea to sell blank unfinished jewelry supplies on Etsy.

My store sells the highest quality, sustainable wood products with exemplary costumer service. I am here to supply you with unfinished wood jewelry so you could create that perfect accessory for you or for someone special
