@Viktoria, we are not a curated site, just a moderated site. The items are public immediately in the free categories. If you go to your profile page, you will see all your published items there. If you do not see them on the category page, you may need to refresh the page a couple of times. All pages on the site are totally randomized so each time the page loads, there are different items to see. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean that others can't.

I only found my front page item so far.
So it means there are not all of the category items visible by scrolling? ...no more sites?
I just was wondering seeing relatively little range of things on the site...

@Viktoria, There are 60 items per page, you need to randomize the page to see different items (click the randomize button or refresh the page). In populated pages, you may not immediately see your item on the category page.

All of your items submitted to the free categories are immediately visible by everyone. Just because you cannot immediately see your item on the page doesn't mean that other people won't see it. Each time the page of that category is loaded, it will show different items in the category. As I explained, all pages are totally randomized on the site which means that everyone gets equal exposure.

yes I got all this already, my question was not only about my items, but about the total amount of items, and if it is not possible to see the total amount of items of a category.
Like it is possible on shopping venues to have site 1,2,3,4 and so on.....

But I see there is always just one site, I thought perhaps I missed something.

@Viktoria, it's confusing because you call it 'site' and I think you mean 'page'. You also said:

This is why I assumed you were talking about only your items.

We have 60 items on one page which are totally randomized. Each time the pages are loaded, by anyone, different items will show up. If we had all of the items showing, no one would ever get to the bottom of the page. There are several hundreds of items in many categories. We have set it up this way so that everyone gets a chance of being seen.

If people want to continue browsing within a certain category, they have the option to click on the randomize button at the bottom which will then bring up a whole new page of items. This basically constitutes as a new 'page'. We just don't have the numbers at the bottom as you suggest, that's all.

I LOVE THIS IDEA...I must apologize that I'm one of the guilty ones, of course I'd like more exposure outside of Etsy and have written about that in various threads...no clue how/why I missed this one!!

Just last night I was trying to read through the discussions to figure out better how Craftori works. I'm on several other teams, and have been behind due to personal reasons so am now working to make sure I do all the "right" things" for the right teams- each runs diffrently.

I absolutely agree we need outside exposure, and to be honest, am rather stunned that Etsy doesn't offer us any support of their own to that end, considering how much they make from us.

Though I'm slammed with another project right now (this happened to pop up on my screen as I was writing to you earlier, but it disappeared into cyberspace. But I will finish getting the hang of this within the next day or two and will absolutely participate! Thank you for the reminder!

@Lisa, Thanks for your input. I have long been puzzled by the phenomena that is Etsy where sellers sell to sellers. I appreciate that there is some value in this, after all, everyone buys stuff but I do believe that this is limited. Sellers have a focus here on Etsy and that is to sell, not to buy. This is why we set up the website. The fact that the forums are full to the brim of promotions, just proves this point.

As for Etsy not supporting outside promotion, well I think that they do in a subtle way since they permit us to have the team here. I agree that perhaps they could be more pro-active themselves but I'm not really up-to-date with what kind of advertising Etsy does. I'm in Europe so I don't know if they do any kind of publicity in the States, like TV ads or anything. If anyone knows of this, I would like to hear about it.

How do you post items from your Etsy shop? I'm having trouble with entering the right URL.

@Patsy, you can link to any venue you wish. The url link should either go to the item you upload or to your shop/website.

I used to be very good about listing my items, then wasn't so good at posting my items to the website. I've just gone on now and there's only 1 item listed!! I didn't realize that items expired!! (or perhaps I did before and have since forgotten . . . )

This is totally fine and understandable, if anything it's motivation to keep on top of it!

@Carolyin, in an effort to stop items getting buried by sold items, they expire after 4 months. As the site gets busier, we may have to revise this time period. :-)
