Deleting Sold Items - IMPORTANT INFO

Having to go through the website and delete any items that go to an uh-oh page has lead me to post here.

It seems that many of you are deleting sold items. When you do this, any marketing you have done for that item is completely wasted. On an uh-oh page, there is absolutely no clue as to who the sellers is and you can no longer be found. Any hits that may come in later will be wasted.

I appreciate that you may have to de-activate listings that have been sold away from Etsy and that cannot be helped. Unfortunately these too go to an uh-oh page.

Please also let us know if you delete or de-activate an item (as requested in the FAQs) as it is a huge job going through the website to get rid of these listings. It will really help to keep the website looking good and to make it a pleasurable experience for anyone shopping there. Thank you.

I should also add that if your own pages contain many items that go to uh-oh pages, it does not give a good impression. Shoppers will only click a couple of these before they get fed up and go away, meaning you lose a potential customer.

When shoppers search for an item, they can now click on individual seller pages making it even more important that you keep your pages looking good. :-)
