Hey everyone, I've been crazy busy lately but want to stop in and say hello. We were out gardening all weekend and I'm on spring break this week, so I'm looking at a full week of catching up. And something cool, my cousin approached me for album cover art for his new demo sponsored by Jagermeister. So I'm going to draft up some artwork this week, this should be a fun job.
I hope you all have a great week of sales and I will pop in time to time to check out the latest stuff. Great treasuries! Thanks
@Anau, thank you. My paintings will be quite different for this exhibition so I'm looking forward to starting on this series and showing off new work. :-)
@Karen, D-day is almost upon you. I can't believe you've arranged a photo shoot so close to moving. Are you mad? ;-)
Lol, completely barking :) It's the only way to be. Have dyed my hair tonight and bought a new set of false lashes- hoping for decent light on Thursday !
Good luck with it Karen. I can't wait to see the photos. If they're anything like the ones you've been putting up, they'll be excellent!
The sun finally came out today here in France so it's nice to have a little light in the house again. Alas I will be stuck indoors writing reports. Still, not complaining about having work. :-)
It's amazing how much better we feel when the sun shines. After the news from France these last few days we're all feeling upset. We've been through our fair share of tragedy this side of the channel and our thoughts are with you. How anyone can do that to children is completely beyond my understanding.
@Cat, you're right, it's totally despicable. I can't even believe someone would do that only because they're a different religion. Truly shocking.
We also had some more bad news. Joe, my partner who does all the technical stuff for EtsyLush, his father had a heart attack and is in a coma in hospital. It is not looking hopeful at all and is really a big shock. :-(
@Eureka... sorry to hear about your partner's dad. :(
Been busy with spring cleaning and prepping for birthday plans this weekend. Also, the weather is insane here, already feels like summer so its been impossible not to be outside.
Well, I've been dealing with a migraine all week, so I've taken off this week more than work, but considering what is happening out there, I can't really complain.
As I wrote that last message, the phone rang to say that Joe's dad is conscious again. He was given 3 days maximum and now he's awake again. It's truly unbelievable. :-))))
Thanks Dawn, we really still can't believe it. It really is a miracle. He is responding to questions and recognizes people so clearly his mind is still working.
It's quite an inspiring story actually and I will tell you why he is now called 'The Terminator'.
2 years ago, he was swimming in the sea in Turkey. He had a heart attack and died in the water, so basically he drowned. He was washed up on the beach totally dead and amazingly, there was a doctor on the beach who did CPR and brought him back. The following day he was sitting up in his hospital bed making everyone laugh with his stories and jokes.
3 months ago he had a massive lump removed from his stomach, it was a huge operation. 2 days later, he was home and soon after going on his walks every day.
This man is 84 years old and he will just not be defeated. It's quite amazing. I told Joe that if he is made of the same stuff, I'll never get rid of him!! ;-)))
We're still sitting here saying 'I can't believe it'. Just hope he can make enough of a recovery to have some quality of life. Fingers crossed but there sure is every reason to be hopeful now.
Good morning everyone....after all this time of being a member here I have only just this minute discovered this chat thread!!!! Lovely to see you Cat :)
I have just been reading back a bit and your partner's father does sound amazing Eureka! I wish him a speedy recovery.
We have the electricians here in a minute, so I will sign off now, but I'll be back - Kim :)
**Waving back to Karen*** Glad to hear Joe's dad is improving :)
Out to lunch today with my son and daughter, it's my mothers day pressie from them both :) Not sure where we are going because it is a surprise...then tonight we are off out to a 50th Wedding Anniversary party - hubby is coming with me to that one, but not to lunch and he is a bit miffed!!!
Enjoy this glorious sunshine everyone and have a great Saturday - Kim :)
@Karen, we don't know yet. I doubt he'll want to stay there or in a convalescent home. He does have people to look after him at home so with a bit of luck they'll let him do that. He's quite independent so I don't think he would like it if he had to go to a home.
Your M-Day is almost there. You must be feeling excited. I love new starts, it's just the moving bit that's a pain. I really should de-clutter so I can move more easily.
