The right tent?

I will be doing an outside event that requires me to bring a tent. I have been hesitant to buy one because they are quite expensive and cumbersome.

But now that I need to - I need help finding the right one for me.

Here are my requirements -
white
10x10
easy to put up and down alone
available sides (even if they have to be bought separately)

Please give me all your worldy knowledge!!!!!

Re: The right tent?

I'm a TINY person, 4'11 and child size lol. With that being said there is no such thing as an easy tent for me to put up and down alone!! But I do have an 10x10 white EZ Up and it's not too scary. I think if I had to do it alone I could possibly figure it out - but it might not pretty ;)

Re: The right tent?

I have an Impact canopy that I bought through HutShop.com and I really cannot say enough about it. Started out bad. The first one I got, when I got to my show to put it up, one of the legs wasn't sticking. I found a work around for the day, but called them up and they sent me a new one right away. They didn't even make me return the old one, which would have been a HUGE pain. Another perk of this is that it comes with a great roller bag that was specifically designed to fit in the trunk of your car. I don't have an SUV or anything like that, so this was important, and it works great! Here's a link: http://www.hutshop.com/traditional.html

Good luck!

I have a white Wenzel I got from Amazon. You can get sides for it. Fast Delivery. It is very lightweight and very easy to put up.
Many will recommend EZ Up - but I am not strong enough to put one up by myself. Or lug the thing from my car to my space.

Re: The right tent?

I'm a senior citizen and have been putting my EZ-up up and down by myself for years. I can lift and carry a very short distance to put into my vehicle but not a long distance.

Re: The right tent?

My EZ up has a rolling case in it that makes it easy to take from my car to my spot. The reason I got that instead of the lighter weight ones was so it was durable in weather. Where I live it's WINDY very often and you want something that's going hold throughout. Just my two cents on why I chose the EZ up. It maybe heavier but it's worth it to me.

Re: The right tent?

I have the ez up that sam's club sells. Its just under $200 has 4 sides. The only down side is that it will not fit in the average car, you need a truck cause when collapsed it is still taller than the width of most vehicles.

Re: The right tent?

I just bought the Sam's Club EZ UP, and I discovered it won't fit across the back seat of my Honda CR-V. Fortunately, though, my back seats are split, so I can just put the one seat down and fit the tent in that way.

I am looking forward to having a sturdier tent! I think I was lucky to get a season and a half out of my Shadetech.

Re: The right tent?

I'm not impressed with my ez up at this point. Put up once, it was very difficult for two people to do it. Unless it loosens up I can't see putting it up myself. Also it is heavy, I can lift it but with difficulty.

Re: The right tent?

I have a Smart Car and I can use a small Honda Accord for shows, so size when stored is VERY relevant. Thanks for all the input!

Charlene, have you checked Costco online? They sell one (At least here in Canada) that has 2 points where the legs click into place instead of 1 making it shorter than most other tents. I watched a lady put it up herself.

Re: The right tent?

I don't know if anyone has suggested it yet, but whatever you do, make sure it's the kind that has the legs that go straight up and down. The first canopy I bought, which I have to use until I get a new one, the legs slanted in so that while the bottom was 10x10, the top of the canopy was 8x8. Luckily, a friend of mine who stopped doing shows is going to be selling hers to me and it's 10x10 straight up and down.

Re: The right tent?

I have been using the Caravan Classic for about 15 years and I have 4 of them. This gives me more flexibility with my booth space since many shows have different outdoor booth sizes. I have 2 - 10X10, 10X15, and a 10X20. I am 57 y/o and I put each of them up without assistance. I would not use any other canopy.
