How do I display chokers?

Okay, I have quite a few chokers in my collection (many that are not on my store yet), but most of them have draping chains, beads that dangle, or something hanging from them. I am looking for a good way to display these. I can't hang them sideways because then it just looks like a mess of chain and beads. But if I put them horizontally on one of those necklace displays, people are less likely to try to take it off and try it on, which is what I WANT them to do!

So, with all that said, what would be a good way to display these chokers? There are quite a few of them and my first show next week I only have one 6 foot table.... In my test set up, the chokers were posing my biggest problem with the setup. HELP!

This is one example of one of my elaborate chokers:

Oh, and I'm also trying to avoid "just laying them on the table" because from what people say, this is not a good thing to do?

Re: How do I display chokers?

People are most drawn to the traditional upright display.

You might come up with unique, neutral colored one.
But the traditional white and black will sell your items best - it seems to me that people pay more for items on these displays as well.
My issue with this display is, how do you get it stable so it doesn't fall over when someone touches it???

Re: How do I display chokers?

Have you tried displaying one on the neck form and others maybe pinned to a frame? Fill the frame with fabric that compliments your steampunk style, with a little padding behind the fabric so it will hold pins. You could use hat pins or corsage pins, or something that looks more industrial and tack them up, slightly draped. That way people can see how they look "on" (the form) but will feel free to touch and pick up the ones on the frame.

Re: How do I display chokers?

Your Etsy photo shows off the choker perfectly, so I'd agree with Aura Rose that a traditional necklace display might be best. You'll have to be selective in your choices of what to show, since you don't have a lot of space.

Personally, I don't like when a table is FILLED with those displays, but if you use a few it would show the chokers off nicely.

In terms of stability - maybe a rock or paperweight to weigh the display down?

And for the remainder - Instead of laying them flat on the table, maybe flat on a slanted board? To add some dimension/interest and bit of height.

The neckforms would look nice on shelves sat on your table. Get the kind that have a stable base not the easel ones.

I would use a large picture frame, cut a piece of ceiling tile and cover it with fabric to place inside. Then pin your chokers in the the frame. Put the frame in an Easel, or build a base for it so it can stand. You can also lie the frame flat on the table.

Re: How do I display chokers?

I would have a choker on a mannequin, with the other chokers in front of the mannequin. That way, people see what they are ahead of time, and then notice the other options in front of them.
