Today in the forums it was announced that they will be transitioning the front page to a more customized homepage. Here is the full anoucment . . .
Hi Everyone,
As we announced in March, and as some of you might have noticed, we’ve been experimenting with more personalized content on the Etsy homepage. The response has been excellent - more buyers browsing the marketplace and more shoppers favoriting items and shops. This type of engagement is what leads to stronger connections between shops and customers. It also helps buyers find what they’re looking for and discover new items on Etsy, which is important for all of us as we grow closer to the holiday season.
Since we’ve seen such great results, we’re going to begin ramping up this feature over the next week to shoppers and sellers. We’re here in the Forums today (myself, Bowen, Vernon, and some special appearances by Emily from Merch) to discuss why we’re changing the homepage, some of the specific improvements in buyer activity that we’ve noticed, and highlight some ways you can start engaging with it. Take a look at the highlights of the new feature and then join our Q&A below.
A New, More Democratic Homepage
When treasuries were the anchor of our homepage, a few hundred sellers’ items were featured each day. The new homepage enables thousands of sellers’ work to be highlighted to new and existing customers, opening up the door for more sellers, both small and large, to appear on users’ homepage. We’re now showcasing a greater diversity of sellers’ shops and items to relevant buyers across our marketplace.
Customized Content
Each Etsy user will see their own customized version of the Etsy homepage. We’ll be using favorites and purchases to populate each homepage with relevant content, as well as sharing trending items and seasonal favorites.
Increase Shopper Engagement
We’re already seeing more shoppers browse the marketplace, discover new items and shops, and favorite content they love. This increased engagement should lead to more purchases during the holiday season.

Thanks,
Sarah
